We do two levels of training the first level of training is classroom which covers; WHMIS or MSDS material safety data sheets so the staff know what they’re using and how to read the information provided.
Staff are also introduced to the hydrogen peroxide based cleaner that they use and the microfibre system, which is colour coded. Vacuums and equipment care is also covered.
Stafford are trained on infection control and how to keep themselves safe from disease. This includes wearing gloves and masks plus handwashing and treating all surfaces as if contaminated.
The second area of training is on site training, which is specific to the location and the needs of the client at that site.
Each staff member in the building is provided with a task schedule and a corresponding map of the building which shows their area of responsibility.
The team leader goes over the map and walks through the building with the staff member making the staff member familiar with the areas they are responsible for. Partway through the first shift and at the end of the first shift, the team leader meets with the staff member in their area and discusses anything they have concerns with and to review their work.
